Greetings, Programs. It was a pleasure to see all of the teams in the System on March 9, 2025 for MouseAdventure: Enter the Grid. The event took place at the Magic Kingdom and the monorail resorts (the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary). The day was clear and bright, with highs in the 80s.
In a departure from past events, the park portion took place in the morning with the resorts in the afternoon. Teams met up at the bus stop area for check in at 9 AM, followed by orientation. At approximately 9:45 AM, teams received a packet of six quests plus a set of eye spy photos and then entered the park for the morning portion of the event.
At 10:30 a.m., teams could pick up their "404 Error" quest replacement at MouseAdventure Central inside the park. All teams turned in their park answer sheets at 1 p.m., and then had a one hour break before picking up the afternoon portion.
At 2 p.m., teams lined up outside the Magic Kingdom touch points to receive their second packet of the day, containing two quests each for the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian, another eye spy set, and trivia. At 2:30 p.m., an additional two quests were available for pick up at the Contemporary. Game play ended at 5:30 p.m., and teams went off to relax and eat while the Third Gate Games team graded and scored. A post-game recap at 9:30 p.m. offered players the chance to ask questions and mingle before the top teams were announced.
Park Quests
Space Paranoids (30 Points)
What better way to start a TRON-themed game, than to send teams to the TRON ride. The concrete wall that runs along the back wall of the area presented some tempting patterns in the form of hexagons stamped into the surface. Teams surveyed the hexagons along the wall and used the pattern of filled versus outlined to eliminate letters from a provided string. The remaining letters spelled out the final question.
- Final Question: A Team Green member with six letter name
- Final Answer: Vector
Posters for the Team Green members are located near the TRON Light Cycle Ride exit.
End of Line Club (30 Points)
Teams were next tasked to search high and low through Storybook Circus for the answers to thirteen questions. The answers didn't necessarily use all of the boxes provided, which presented an additional challenge to teams. When recorded on the quest sheet, the highlighted column of letters displayed the final question, if read from the bottom up.
- Final Question: Scent of churro
- Final Answer: A celebration of cinnamon
Instructions for the quest indicated that the answer should be four words. An item near the train station displayed the full phrase we were looking for.
Derezzed (40 Points)
A quick trip around Liberty Square had players scratching their heads and looking at the buildings in a new way. Provided with pixelated versions of familiar facades, the quest asked teams to record the number of the building on the front door, and if it was equipped with a door knocker. Based on this data, teams placed the letters from above or below the images in sequential order to reveal the final question.
- Final Question: Finish the sentence, "Beyond this gateway lies"
- Final Answer: A humble village built on hope and courage
The plaque with the answer is located at the entrance to Liberty Square as you walk in from Main Street.
Repurposed (50 Points)
This quest required teams to answer questions in Fantasyland in order to properly place barriers within a grid. Teams then decoded a series of colored letters by "throwing their discs," starting at the provided letter and proceeding into the grid to bounce off the barriers until they arrived at a letter on another side. Once fully decoded, the final question was revealed.
- Final Question: Title on the top of page thirteen on the ceiling of Hundred Acre Goods
- Final Answer: A Blustery Day
One of the questions referred to a map on a wall that is near the Peter Pan attraction in an area that is sometimes used for character greeting. At one point in the game, Peter was spotted trying to help out teams by shouting "Crocodile Creek."
Disc Wars (50 Points)
As is typical with Main Street USA quests, this one had to be picked up after the start of the event. Teams showed their "404 Error" sheet at MouseAdventure Central to receive the single sheet.
Teams were tasked with locating the list of tag lines from various windows and signs in the land, then writing down the name of the person or business associated with those phrases in the provided spaces. These answers provided the key to decode the disc of colored letters.
- Final Tag Line: Saves time, money, distance, and changes of cars
- Final Answer: The Central Short Line
The final answer is located on one of the maps underneath the Main Street train station.
Space Cowboy (60 Points)
The opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Frontierland has created a new set of information for MouseAdventure! This quest put a spin on a traditional word search, by placing the hidden words with a single turn in them, like a light cycle path might have.
Teams were provided with images from around Frontierland, and were tasked with finding the words missing from them. Once all of the missing words were found in the word search grid, the remaining letters spelled out the final question.
- Final Question: The set list for the Country Bears is written on an item. Tell us where the item's from
- Final Answer: The Hungry Bear Restaurant
An error in the spelling of "forecast" in the word search grid resulted in a note being added to the quest.
Eye Spy Park (5 Points Each)
In concert with having just over three hours to solve all the above quests, players also had to find seven Eye Spy locations throughout the park which had the numbers removed from the images.
- 066893, from the transportation window along the side street in Main Street USA
- 10004, from the scoreboard in Casey's Corner
- 12, from a display of model train engines underneath the Main Street train station
- 225, on a poster in Tomorrowland
- 15, on a battery inside the gift shop at the exit of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
- 1771, on a sign along the side of the Diamond Horseshoe
- 5571, at the Jungle Cruise

After a one hour break to eat and rest, teams picked up the second packet outside of the Magic Kingdom touch points at 2 p.m. The packet contained quests for the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. It also contained another "404 Error" page that could be shown at 2:30 p.m. at the Contemporary to exchange for the two quests in that resort. Distribution outside of the Magic Kingdom gave teams multiple options to get to the resort: monorail, boat, or even walking.
Initiate Light Cycle Battle (30 Points)
Taking place inside the lobby of the main Grand Floridian building, players had to survey all the small plaques next to the art and curios on display. Filling in words inside the colored light cycle trails and then writing the numbered letters from each in order lead to the final question.
- Final Question: What year was M Mouse Mercantile established
- Final Answer: 1929
One of the items on display is a 19th Century squirrel cage. Apparently keeping squirrels as pets was popular in that time.
Isomorphic Algorithms (60 Points)
The second quest at the Grand Floridian proved to be one of the most challenging of the day. MouseAdventure quests often involve noticing tiny details that other folk just seem to miss, and this quest is one of those examples. Disney decorators installed the same artwork in the lobbies of the various buildings surrounding the main Grand Floridian hotel... but they installed each set in a slightly different layout on the wall.
Teams were given outlines of each layout, and challenged with identifying which set corresponded to which building. Once identified, the first seven letters of each building were written into boxes with corresponding symbols. Sections of each painting provided were matched up to the images, and the letters for each symbol were shifted according to the numbers provided. Once the shifted letters were written in the gray spaces and read from left to right, top to bottom, they spelled out the final question.
- Final Question: Count penguins in fountain in Villa lobby
- Final Answer: 7
While writing this quest, the fountain was behind plants under repair. Thankfully the gamble that it would be finished by game day paid off.
Matrix Blaster (40 Points)
While researching, the Third Gate Games team discovered a display in the Polynesian gift shop window that seemed tailor-made for MouseAdventure: A display of past room numbers was arranged on a net of ropes in a grid pattern. Teams were given the numbers along with a corresponding letter and tasked with placing them in the order displayed to spell out the final question.
- Final Location: How many Bora Bora Bungalows are located in Polynesian Village map on lobby wall
- Final Answer: 10
The trick about this quest was using the indicated map on the lobby wall, which only shows 10 bungalows.
Sprint to the Portal (40 Points)
Sayings from Polynesian island travel posters were provided to teams, who had to identify the islands associated with each. These names were used to decipher a letter/number code to determine the final question.
- Final Question: Name of village on map in Tokelau longhouse
- Final Answer: Atafu
Knowledge of the Polynesian Resort served teams well in making quick work of this quest. These posters are located separately in their respective building lobbies, but they are also located as a group in the seating area of Captain Cook's quick service.
Proceed to Games (30 Points)
It felt like too much of a Disney gift to MouseAdventure when we visited the Contemporary Resort video game arcade and discovered coded letters on the wall outside — it would have been rude not to take advantage of such an opportunity!
Players searched for missing letters and numbers in the provided images from arcade game cabinets and used them to replace the corresponding colored TRON characters above columns of letters and numbers. These columns then served as the key to decode the string of text on the wall.
- Final Question: What game is a member of Class of 1981
- Final Answer: Galaga
Bio-Digital Jazz (50 Points)
The Contemporary Resort Tower building is full of artwork, clustered into groups of similar images. Layouts of artwork were provided, along with selections from pieces within those groupings. Teams identified the location of the provided image, then used the column of letters associated with that image to plug into the appropriate column on the numbered grid. Once the grid was completed, the final question was revealed.
- Final Question: Milo Baughman Design Inc address in lobby artwork
- Final Answer: 381 East Center Provo Utah 84601
Eye Spy Resorts (5 Points Each)
Teams had three and a half hours at the resorts to work on quests, and they also had to locate seven Eye Spy locations in a similar format as the Park eye spy.
- 4003, from an album cover in a display at the Polynesian
- 3161955, from the Polynesian parking area
- 7104, from Contemporary grounds
- 9 13 1 8 14 20, from directional signs on the grounds at the Polynesian
- 300 1045, at the Contemporary boat dock
- 10, from the DVC display next to the Grand Floridian lobby gift shop
- 9, from the Grand Floridian pool (during grading, it was agreed that credit would also be granted to those answering 2 or 6)
Hidden Quest (20 Points)
Sometimes an additional quest is woven into the fabric of the game packet that players carry around with them all day. There's a space for it on the answer sheet, and teams are not able to ask for any hints. Part of the point of the hidden quest is that it's hidden.
For this game, teams had to return to a MouseAdventure Central location in the park and in the resorts to pick up additional quests; the "404 Error" pages that directed the teams to pick up the extra quest had additional text at the bottom of each page, and were returned to teams alongside the next quest. Filling in all of the zeroes in the text was the key. When both pages were placed on top of one another while aligning the bottom row of zeroes, then held up to light, the filled in zeroes formed a pattern of letters.
- Final Question: Hidden quest Tron sponsor
- Final Answer: Enterprise
